Building Wellness Taranaki appoints Christina Lorth as Coordinator

Christina is the new Coordinator for Building Wellness Taranaki

Passionate about mental health advocacy, suicide prevention, and ensuring the culture of the Taranaki Construction sector is recognised as one that supports and cares for the wellbeing of our people.

Christina currently manages the everyday operations of the Trust’s initiatives, including co-designing mental health training programmes and coordinating Buddy and Leadership workshops; organising Breakfast Sessions with expert matter guest speakers on best practice workplace wellbeing, and engaging with the construction industry to offer support to people who may be struggling to cope with everyday pressures. A strong media communications, research, and advocacy background with previous roles including Communications Planning Manager (Manning Gottlieb OMD, Ikon Communications), Research Assistant (Te Whānau Lab, Victoria University of Wellington), Support Worker (Taranaki Retreat) and Strengthening Families (Barnardos) has placed her in a highly connected position within the local and wider community. Recently graduating with a Master of Science, in Psychology (First Class Honours) at Massey University, Christina brings to the role an extensive understanding of organisational and social psychology and wellbeing.

Building Wellness is encouraging local partners and businesses involved in the local construction industry or related trades to take the pledge by becoming a member to signify your support in achieving better wellbeing outcomes for our people.

The Trusts’ initiatives focus on connecting people to the right resources and support when needed. Support can be accessed through our trained volunteer Buddies and Mentors, or directly through Christina, who is located at the Chamber Hub, in Bell Block.
